Can't sync with iPhone. Helloooo Kindle!!!!

I have zero incentive to use iBooks if I can't use it and sync with my iPhone. With Kindle, I can read on my iPhone and my Kindle automatically recognizes the latest page I read and offers to take me there. iBooks cost more and won't sync with my iPhone. Yaaawwwnnnnn!

Interesting that for all the derision it received, the Kindle looks like a winner in the (very) early rounds of the ongoing eBook Reader wars against the iPad because of user ability to read its (admittedly locked down) digital content on a number of devices... not just an actual Kindle.

I'm very happy with my current stack of digital books residing on Amazon's cloud. Sure, they are DRM'd and that makes me unhappy, but I can access my books on my Mac, my Asus, my wife's Mac, my iPhone, my iPod Touch and ... oh yeah ... my Kindle DX.

Chances are, I have one of those around me when I get the itch to read.

I wouldn't be a happy camper if Apple mandated that I read *my* books just on one device.

Hopefully they will take the path of the Kindle (and iTunes) and allow for iBooks to work on more than one device.

Otherwise, the iPad is just a toy.
